Dr. Tiwalade Adeniyi (EMBA)

Dr. Tiwalade Adeniyi (EMBA) has an extensive background in sustainability and strategy. Dr. Tiwalade is currently serving as the Group Head of Sustainability & Strategy at FMDQ Group since August 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Certified Trainer at PECB starting in November 2019. Dr. Tiwalade also served as the Sustainability Lead at Coronation Group from June 2020 to August 2022. Dr. Tiwalade'sresponsibilities in this role included establishing a robust sustainability strategy across the financial services group and aligning it with various principles and standards.

Before joining Coronation Group, Dr. Adeniyi held the position of Manager of Sustainability & Climate Change at PwC from July 2018 to June 2020. In this role, they developed sustainability and ESG reports using reporting and regulatory standards, and they aligned clients' ESG activities with their strategies, SDGs, and national priorities.

Prior to PwC, Dr. Adeniyi worked as a Senior Consultant in ESG & Sustainability at Environmental Accord Limited from February 2015 to June 2018. During this time, they provided ESG advisory services to various clients and conducted environmental audits, compliance monitoring, and due diligence in line with safeguard policies and regulations.

Dr. Tiwalade also has experience as an E&S Consultant, conducting training and providing solutions on ESG matters at the University of Lagos (Consult) & ISHCM Institute of Strategic Human Capital Managers from November 2012 to January 2015. Additionally, Dr. Adeniyi worked as an Environment, Health, and Social (EHS) Analyst at Consolidated Breweries Plc. (A subsidiary of Heineken International) from August 2011 to October 2012, where they managed the operations of the brewhouse and cellar and provided analytical support.

Dr. Tiwalade Adeniyi (EMBA) has a diverse and comprehensive education history. Dr. Tiwalade completed their Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology between 2021 and 2023. Prior to this, Dr. Adeniyi obtained a Certificate in Fundamentals of Project Planning & Management from the University of Virginia in 2019.

Dr. Adeniyi holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Botany, which they earned from the University of Lagos from 2013 to 2018. Dr. Tiwalade completed their Bachelor's Degree in Botany at the same institution from 2006 to 2010. Before their university studies, they successfully completed their WASSCE in Sciences at King's College, Lagos from 2000 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Adeniyi has acquired multiple certifications to enhance their expertise. Dr. Tiwalade obtained the Introduction to Sustainable Finance certification from the United Nations Climate Change Learning Partnership in August 2023. In October 2022, they received the ISO 21502: Lead Project Manager certification from PECB. Other certifications include Focus on ESG from IFF Training in September 2021, ISO 37301 Lead Implementer from PECB in June 2021, and Climate and Disaster Risk Screening: Identifying Risk to Enhance Resilience from the World Bank Group in May 2021, to name a few.
