Leo Hovestadt serves as the Director of Governmental Affairs for Elekta since January 1999. In addition to this role, Leo is involved with various workgroups at the European Commission, focusing on medical device software and clinical investigations. Leo is a member and chair of multiple workgroups within COCIR, contributing to discussions on software, AI, market access, interoperability, and cybersecurity, while also participating as a member of DITTA and chairing its Clinical Investigation and Evaluation efforts. Leo leads the NEN Clinical Investigation workgroup and is an active board member of the Dutch chapter of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS). In addition to these positions, Leo is part of the Dutch Artificial Intelligence clinical workgroup and chairs the FME Care group. Leo is a member of the Dutch MDR reference group and owns Raindroptime.com. Educational experience includes studies at Fontys University of Applied Sciences and Eindhoven University of Technology.
