Alex Johnston

Alex Johnston has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Currently, they serve as the Chief Insurance Officer at FMG (Farmers Mutual Group) since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at ACC New Zealand as the Manager Actuarial Funding & Advice from April 2018 to October 2022. Before joining ACC New Zealand, Alex held various roles at IAG, including National Manager Personal Pricing & Analytics from November 2014 to March 2018. They also served as the Personal Lines Pricing Manager from January 2011 to November 2014, Pricing Specialist from September 2006 to December 2010, and Senior Pricing Analyst from March 2004 to August 2006. Additionally, they gained experience as a Senior Business Analyst at RBS Insurance from January 2002 to November 2003, Database Analyst at Norwich Union International from January 2001 to June 2001, and Management Information Analyst at AXA Insurance UK plc from October 1999 to December 2000. Their early career started as a Statistician at the New Zealand Forest Research Institute from January 1996 to May 1999.

From 1992 to 1996, Alex Johnston attended the University of Otago where they obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Statistics.
