Tashoy Saddler

Educational Director, 141 East 40th Street Academy at Friends of Crown Heights

Tashoy Saddler is the Educational Director at our Friends of Crown Heights East 40th Street Academy, located in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn. The Academy offers an Infant/Toddler program, in addition to our pre-school and full-day Universal Pre-K programs.

Ms. Saddler has spent her entire adult life as a career educator, beginning as an Assistant Teacher at the high school level in her native Jamaica. Encouraged by the experience, she enrolled in Teachers’ College, where she specialized in elementary education and graduated with the honors diploma. While teaching the 3rd and 5th grades in a private elementary school, she pursued additional studies at Northern Caribbean University, where she earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.

Since migrating to the United States in 2007, Ms. Saddler has opted to specialize in the field of Early Childhood Education, attaining positions of progressive responsibility as a group teacher prior to her appointment as Director of our East 40th Street Academy in 2014. She has since earned the Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, as well as her permanent New York State certification in the field.
