David Kirwan

David Kirwan is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as the Chair of Focus Ireland's Philanthropy Council and a Non-Executive Director at EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Group Limited, Kirwan has held the position of Managing Director at Bord Gáis Energy since August 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing the company's strategy towards Ireland's energy net zero transition. Prior roles include Managing Director for Centrica's UK Home and UK Customer Operations divisions, with a strong focus on customer strategy and operational leadership. Kirwan’s career began at ESB, and David has progressed through various senior roles in Bord Gais Eireann, including managing the competitive energy business and energy infrastructure investments. Kirwan holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from University College Cork, along with an MBA and a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University College Dublin.
