Project Manager at Focus Lab

Justin Sims has a diverse range of work experience in project management, graphic design, and brand strategy. Justin is currently working as a Project Manager at Focus Lab since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Roundel from May 2018 to August 2021, where they served as an Operations Manager - Tools and Process and a Program Manager - Home Electronics & Mobile.

Before joining Roundel, Justin worked at JZS Design as an Independent Graphic Designer from May 2013 to February 2020. In this role, they provided design services and wore multiple hats related to business development, client and vendor relations, project management, creative work, and invoicing.

During their tenure at ABE Studios from February 2017 to April 2018, Justin worked as an Art Director & Project Manager. Justin played a crucial role in bolstering the tech stack and processes, collaborating with the owner on creative vision, overseeing logistics, and managing relationships between clients, contractors, and vendors.

Additionally, Justin worked as a Graphic Designer at 75F from September 2015 to August 2016 and as a Graphic Designer + Print Coordinator at Perkins+Will from January 2015 to June 2015. Justin also served as a Design Fellow at Permaculture Research Institute - Cold Climate from October 2014 to March 2015. In this role, they were responsible for art direction, designing, and naming a permaculture subscription program, solidifying brand standards, and creating promotional and educational materials.

Justin began their career at WOODCHUCK USA, where they worked as a VP - Production from January 2014 to June 2014 and as a Design Intern from October 2013 to January 2014.

Justin Sims, ICP-MKG, has a strong educational background in architecture. Justin earned their Bachelor of Design in Architecture with a minor in Sustainable Studies from the University of Minnesota, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. In 2012, they also participated in the Architectural Foundations Program at DIS – Danish Institute for Study Abroad, focusing on sustainable design, architecture, and fine art.

In addition to their extensive education in architecture, Justin Sims has acquired a certification as an ICAgile Certified Professional in Agility in Marketing from ICAgile in May 2020.
