Jacob Oates

Jacob Oates is a Clinical RN at FOLX Health since November 2021 and a Guest Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing since July 2015, where lectures on pediatric nursing care for transgender and gender non-conforming patients have been utilized and updated annually. Jacob Oates also contributes as a consultant, creating simulations to enhance nursing students' communication skills with transgender adolescents facing bullying. Prior experience includes serving as a Nurse Case Manager for the Accessing Care Early program at Johns Hopkins Medicine, as well as roles in behavioral health and youth-focused HIV/STI testing. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Family Practice Nursing from The George Washington University, a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and a Master's in Legal and Ethical Studies from the University of Baltimore, along with a Bachelor's in Political Science from Virginia Wesleyan University.
