Andrea Lazo-Quirola

Andrea Lazo-Quirola's work experience includes various roles in the medical field. Andrea began their career as a Medical Laboratory Assistant at the Laboratorio de Patología e Inmunología Dr. Jorge Ugalde Puyol in 2012. Andrea then worked as a General Physician and Director of the Operative Unit at the Ministerio de Salud - Ecuador in 2018, where they provided primary medical care, handled low-complexity emergencies, and managed patient transfers. Andrea also conducted health promotion and prevention activities and handled administrative tasks.

In 2019, Andrea joined WeCare S.A as a General Physician, where they provided general medical services until 2021. In 2020, they briefly worked at MEDICASALUD S.A as a General Physician. During the same year, they joined Cruz Roja Ecuatoriana, where they performed triage for COVID tests and provided initial management for COVID-positive patients.

Andrea’s experience at OmniHospital in 2021 involved serving as a Resident and Assistant Physician. Andrea provided general medical care to COVID patients, as well as patients with other conditions, in outpatient clinics and emergency areas. Andrea also worked in hospitalization for patients with various complexities.

In 2021, Andrea joined MedicaSalud S.A as a General Physician, where they worked in general medicine, managing patients of different age groups and pathologies. This included diagnosing and treating prevalent diseases, as well as providing nutritional advice. Andrea also handled low to moderate complexity emergencies and performed minor surgical procedures.

Most recently, Andrea joined FOMAT Medical Research in 2022 as a Medical Liaison Specialist II. The details of their role and responsibilities are not provided.

Andrea Lazo-Quirola pursued their education in the field of medicine, starting in 2012 and ending in 2017 at Universidad del Azuay, where they obtained their degree as a Médica. Following this, they went on to pursue a Master's degree in International Nutrition and Dietetics at Universidad Europea del Atlántico from 2020 to 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Andrea has also obtained various certifications. In January 2022, they completed the "FORMACIÓN DE FORMADORES - METODOLOGÍA INAP" at SECAP Ecuador. In December 2021, they obtained a certification in "Ecografía Básica Abdominal y Pélvica (60 horas)" from Internacional Medical Center Solutions. Earlier in April 2021, they completed the "Curso Taller: COVID-19 Atención y Control del Paciente Domiciliario" at FECIM-ECUADOR and also acquired the certification for "Manejo de Paciente Politraumatizado- (8 horas)" from the same institution. In March 2021, they participated in the "Congreso Mundial en Salud: Nueva Realidad Médica 2021- (60 horas)" organized by the Ministerio de Salud - Ecuador. In July 2017, they completed the "Conducta responsable de la investigación. (Español)" and the "GCP Course for Clinical Trials Involving Investigational Medical Devices (international focus)" from the CITI Program. Andrea'smost recent certification, obtained in December 2021, is on "Gestión Integral de Desechos Sanitarios" from the Ministerio de Salud - Ecuador.
