Hatim Derrouz

Hatim Derrouz, PhD, is a scientific researcher at the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research (MAScIR) since December 2016, focusing on the development of a traffic management system utilizing image processing and machine learning algorithms specifically for Moroccan roads. Hatim has previously served as an ambassador for IEEEXtreme from April to December 2020 and completed a research internship at Università degli Studi di Genova in late 2019, working on artificial intelligence in traffic management as part of the doctoral program. In July 2019, a summer trainee experience at Huawei Technologies allowed for exploration of various technologies and cultural insights. Early career experiences include an internship at STE EL Hallaoui, where Hatim developed a JEE application for managing maintenance invoices. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Image Processing and Machine Learning from ENSIAS (2017-2021) and a Master in Research from Université Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah-Fès (2014-2016).
