The Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation was established on December 9, 2019. In compliance with the provisions contained in the Olympic Charter, in the Code of Ethics of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and in the Agreement signed in Lausanne on 24 June 2019 (Host City Contract), the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation will carry out all the organizational, promotional and communication activities for the sporting and cultural events related to the staging of the XXV Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2026. The bodies of the Foundation include the Board of Directors, the Management Committee, and the Board of Statutory Auditors. Giovanni Malagò is the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation as well as the President of the Board of Directors. The CEO of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation is Andrea Varnier. The IOC, the Italian National Olympic Committee, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the two cities, Milano and Cortina, are all partners in this major national-level project, that has also the support of the Italian Government, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen. We have all joined forces to create a memorable and sustainable edition of the Games that will create a legacy for the country and inspire future generations.
