Eline Ceulemans is a PhD candidate at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen (FWO) since November 2022, focusing on the project "Small Players in the Big Game: King Leopold II’s diplomatic brokers in late Qing China" under the supervision of M. Van Ginderachter. Previously, Eline served as a doctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp from November 2021 to November 2022, exploring Sino-Belgian diplomatic relations at the turn of the twentieth century. Eline's experience includes various research roles at the University of Antwerp and work as a city guide for Taste The City from 2018 to November 2022. Eline holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy (2020), a Master of Arts in History (2019), and a Bachelor of Arts in History (2018), all from the University of Antwerp, complemented by an ASO in Science-Mathematics from Sint-Michielscollege Schoten (2015).
