Hanne Claessen is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Research Foundation Flanders - FWO since October 2022. Prior to this role, Hanne served as a QA/QC at Cosmade Belgium from August 2021 to October 2022 and held positions as a Research Associate and Volunteer Research Associate at KU Leuven from January 2021 to October 2022. Hanne completed a Doctorate in Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven between January 2017 and October 2021, focusing on self-incompatibility and the use of gibberellins in pear fruit production. Hanne's research experience also includes projects on cross fertilization and self-fertilization in European pear and participation in pest research during internships at PC Fruit and Ocean Orchids d.o.o. Educational background includes a Master of Applied Science with great distinction and a Bachelor in Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen, both from KU Leuven, supported by a high school diploma with a focus on science and mathematics from Sint-Jozef College, Turnhout.
