Joost Brancart is a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) since October 2022 and has held the position of assistant professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel since October 2021. With a focus on stimuli-responsive materials for self-healing applications, Joost's research includes dynamic covalent bonding, conductive nanocomposites, sustainability through bio-based materials, and additive manufacturing. Previous experience encompasses postdoctoral roles at both FWO from 2018 to 2021 and as a visiting postdoctoral researcher at Empa in late 2019. Joost earned a Ph.D. at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where exploration of reversible bonding and smart materials was a key area of study, along with teaching responsibilities. Additionally, Joost served as an independent distributor for Herbalife between October 2014 and December 2022. Education includes a master's degree in Applied Sciences and Engineering, Chemistry and Material Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
