Marcel van Kommer has a diverse work experience. Marcel started their career at Thom Broekman & De Rode Winkel as a Trainee before moving on to Stage Entertainment Nederland as a Trainee in Online Marketing. Marcel then joined VakantieVeilingen as a Trainee in Travel & Horeca. Marcel later worked at User Recruit and User Sense as a Junior UX Researcher, where they conducted usability testing and analyzed test results. Marcel also developed an instruction video for respondents to qualify for paid user tests. Most recently, Marcel worked at fonQ as Lead Partner Success, where they managed a team and was responsible for process improvements, platform development, and internal system functionalities.

Marcel van Kommer completed their education as follows:

- From 2017 to 2021, Marcel attended Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN) and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communicatie en Multimedia Design (CMD) with a specialization in Business Media Design.

- In 2020 and 2021, Marcel pursued a minor in E-marketing and Social Media at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht).

- From 2015 to 2017, Marcel studied at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, focusing on Mediamanagement.

- Between 2012 and 2015, Marcel attended Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht and completed a program as an Allround DTP'er (Desktop Publisher).

- Marcel's earlier education includes attending X11, school voor grafimedia from 2010 to 2012 for VMBO-K (pre-vocational secondary education) and Revius Lyceum Wijk bij Duurstede from 2008 to 2010, also for VMBO-K.

In addition to their formal education, Marcel has obtained additional certifications. In 2023, they completed a course titled "Leadership Fundamentals" offered by Lepaya. In 2022, they participated in Mirakl University, earning a certification from Mirakl.
