Xuan Gao

Xuan Gao has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles. Xuan has served as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief at the Manchester Journal of International Economic Law since December 2010. Xuan also worked as the Lead Lawyer at FAO since October 2022. Xuan has experience as a Chief Legal Advisor at the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance from June 2020 to October 2022. Additionally, Xuan served as the Chief Counsel, Institutional & Administrative at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank from September 2016 to October 2022. Xuan worked as a Secondee in the Office of the General Counsel at EBRD from October 2015 to February 2016. Xuan's past experience also includes serving as a Legal Counsel at the International Fund for Agricultural Development from 2010 to 2016. Xuan has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago, teaching in the PROLAW Programme from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, Xuan gained experience as a Doctoral Research Assistant at INTERPOL in 2007. Xuan began their career as a Legal Officer at the People's Bank of China from 1999 to 2002.

Xuan GAO has a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) in Law from China University of Political Science and Law. They also hold a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International Business Law from The University of Manchester and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Economic Law from The University of Manchester. Additionally, Xuan GAO has pursued further studies in International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford, completing a Master of Studies (MSt) degree.
