Lacey Baldiviez, PhD, is the Chief Impact Officer at Foodbank of Santa Barbara County and also holds titles such as Director of Community Programs & Education and Director Of Education. Additionally, Lacey serves as Treasurer at Rooted Santa Barbara County and as a member of the Advisory Committee at SBC Master Plan on Aging. With a background in Nutritional Biology, Lacey has experience as the Executive Director at The Center for Urban Agriculture at Fairview Gardens and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at USDA ARS.
Foodbank of Santa Barbara County
The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is transforming health by eliminating hunger and food insecurity through good nutrition and food literacy. The Foodbank provides nourishment and education through a network of more than 300 partner agencies, nutrition education programs and food distribution sites operated by the Foodbank and its volunteers. Over the last year, our response to the Covid-19 economic crisis has included distributing over 30 million pounds of food, making more than 80,000 home deliveries of healthy groceries to older adults and those with disabilities, and launching new services in high-poverty areas, such as the Healthy Farmworkers program. For many local residents, recovery from the economic crisis is expected to take 18 to 24 months.
