Katrina Mathis currently serves as the Volunteer Services Director at Food & Friends, where responsibilities include leading a team that engages and coordinates over 300 volunteers weekly through outreach and appreciation initiatives. Previous experience includes roles at AmeriCorps NCCC, where Katrina was the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Partnerships, directing DEI strategies and leading a congressional initiative to boost youth participation. As a Selection and Placement Coordinator, processes for applicant screening were improved, significantly reducing evaluation timelines. Additional roles at AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps involved coordinating strategic initiatives, analyzing recruitment effectiveness, and enhancing outreach to diverse populations. Katrina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from The University of Georgia and a Leadership Certificate from The Johns Hopkins University.

Established in 1988, Food & Friends is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that provides nutritionally tailored, home-delivered meals to people facing a life-challenging health crisis.
