Monica Gerds has a strong background in food safety and laboratory management. Monica started their career as a Laboratory Technician at Peck Foods from 1991 to 1992. Monica then worked at Chr. Hansen A/S, where they held various roles, including Laboratory Technician, Associate Scientist, Process Analyst, and Scientist, from 1992 to 2005. Monica then joined Cargill as a Sr. Research Microbiologist and later served as the Quality Laboratory Superintendent and Food Safety Superintendent from 2005 to 2016. Monica Gerds pursued their education in the field of microbiology. Monica completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 1986 to 1990. Later, they earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, specializing in Microbiology, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 1996 and 2000.
