Jerald Chen has a strong and diverse work experience. Jerald began their career as a MISE Trainee at A.P. Moller - Maersk, where they were involved in global talent programs and gained experience in transhipment operations, inland haulage, and commercial planning. Jerald then moved on to work as a Management Consultant at KPMG before transitioning to a role as a Generalist Banker at ANZ.
In 2016, Jerald joined Kerry Consulting as a Recruitment Consultant, where they focused on talent acquisition. Jerald then worked as a Recruitment Specialist at HSBC, handling recruitment process outsourcing through Allegis Global Solutions. In 2019, Jerald joined WeWork as a Senior Recruiter, further deepening their experience in recruitment.
From 2019 to 2020, Jerald served as a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition at foodpanda, overseeing full-cycle recruitment for the APAC region. During this time, they successfully filled positions in multiple markets, including C-level roles, with minimal agency usage. Jerald then progressed to the role of Head of Talent Acquisition at foodpanda, where they continued to lead and manage recruitment efforts.
Most recently, Jerald assumed the position of Director of Talent Acquisition at foodpanda. Jerald has overall accountability for recruitment across all of APAC, from early careers to C-level hiring. Jerald leads high-caliber multidisciplinary teams responsible for talent sourcing, employer branding, executive search, early careers, and more. Jerald also plays a key role in shaping regional talent acquisition priorities and serves as a bridge between Global HQ and various markets.
Throughout their career, Jerald has consistently demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership abilities, and a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Jerald Chen holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science from the National University of Singapore. Jerald also has a Master of Science in Finance from Baruch College. Additionally, they completed GCE 'A' Levels and 'O' Levels at Raffles Institution. Jerald further pursued a Professional Certificate in Management at Melbourne Business School and participated in a Student Exchange Program at Lund University.
