Noel Mooney currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of the Football Association of Wales, a position held since August 2021. Prior to this, Noel worked at UEFA from January 2012 to August 2021, initially as the Head of Strategic Development, where responsibilities included leading the UEFA GROW program to support the development of European football, and later as a Senior Marketing Manager focused on enhancing national associations' performance in various operational areas. An interim Chief Executive Officer for the Football Association of Ireland in 2019, Noel has also held the role of Head of Marketing Communications at the same association from 2006 to 2012. Academic qualifications include a Masters in European Sports Governance from Sciences Po and participation in various executive programs at prestigious institutions, with ongoing education at Birkbeck, University of London and UEFA Academy.

The Football Association of Wales is the governing body of association football and futsal in Wales, and controls the Welsh national football team, its corresponding women's team, as well as the Welsh national futsal team. It is a member of FIFA, UEFA and the IFAB.
