Emily Meccage

Emily Meccage, PhD, serves as the Senior Manager of Research and Development at Forage Genetics International since August 2019, overseeing breeding and applied R&D efforts for alfalfa genetics while facilitating collaboration between industry, academia, and various research groups. Prior to this role, Emily held positions including Product and Development Manager and Technical Support Specialist at the same company, focusing on product lifecycle management, technical support, and promoting sustainability in alfalfa production. Emily's academic background includes serving as Forage Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor at Montana State University, along with previous research and teaching positions at the University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and North Carolina State University. Emily earned a PhD in Animal Sciences from the University of Minnesota, a Master's degree in Animal Sciences from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Bioscience from Penn State University.
