Katherine Almasy

Katherine Almasy, PhD, currently serves as the Manager of Scientific Innovation at FORCE Communications since July 2022. Prior to this role, Katherine held a Graduate Research Assistant position at Vanderbilt University from August 2017 to July 2022, where research focused on host-pathogen interactions involving flavivirus and coronavirus infections, under the guidance of Dr. Lars Plate. Katherine also gained practical experience as a Teaching Assistant, instructing students in organic chemistry laboratory techniques. Earlier, Katherine completed an internship at Pfizer, assessing the efficacy of viral vaccines, and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University on projects related to polyketide synthases and tetrapyrrole synthesis. Katherine earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University in 2017.
