Peer Navigator Volunteer at FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered

Mary Foti is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in community engagement, grant writing, and legal support. Currently serving as a Community Engagement Specialist at LifeAct of Northeast Ohio since March 2023, Foti contributes to suicide prevention and stress management programs for students, alongside providing QPR training for adults. As a Peer Navigator Volunteer with FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered since April 2017, Foti utilizes personal experience as a BRCA2+ breast cancer survivor to support others facing hereditary cancer challenges. Previously, Foti held roles including Grant Writer and Grants Coordinator, where responsibilities involved researching and submitting proposals to secure funding for nonprofit initiatives. The professional foundation includes paralegal roles at Thompson Hine LLP and Rosenzweig, Schulz and Gillombardo LPA, along with management experience as Clerk of Court for South Euclid Municipal Court. Educational qualifications include a BA in English Literature from Miami University and a General Practice Certificate in Paralegal Studies.

FORCE Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the millions of individuals and families facing hereditary breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, colorectal and endometrial cancers. Our community includes people with a BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2, PTEN or other inherited gene mutation and those diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. We accomplish this through our education, support, advocacy and research efforts.
