Gael Black

Gael Black is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Head of Strategy in the Office of Communications at the Ford Foundation since August 2022. Previous roles include Vice President at Mercury Public Affairs, Deputy Executive Director for External Affairs at the New York City Commission on Gender Equity, and Director of Communications for the New York City Council. Black has a proven track record in building and leading communications departments, developing strategic outreach initiatives, and advising senior leadership on organizational matters. With experience in advocating for equity and community engagement, Black's career also includes contributions to the New York Women's Foundation and the United Nations Foundation. Educational credentials include an Executive Master of Public Administration from NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Bachelor's Degree in Global Politics and World History from the University at Albany.
