Matthew Nguyen

Technology Fellow at Ford Foundation

Matthew Nguyen currently serves as a Technology Fellow at the Ford Foundation, beginning in January 2024. Prior to this role, Matthew led digital governance and rights initiatives at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change from August 2021 to May 2023, contributing to a policy platform designed to address global challenges. As Policy Lead at Reset Australia from October 2019 to July 2021, Matthew focused on public policy to combat digital threats to democracy. Experience includes working as a strategist for Purpose PBC where advocacy and public mobilization were key to advancing social movements, co-founding Action for Health to promote healthier cities, and contributing to climate advocacy with The Climate Reality Project. Early career roles included research assistance at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity and a position at GSK in medical affairs for vaccines. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Microbiology, Immunology, and Public Health from the University of Melbourne.
