Kimberly A. Casiano

Board Member at Ford

Kimberly A. Casiano was elected to the Ford Motor Company board of directors in 2003. She serves on the audit committee, nominating and governance committee and sustainability and innovation committee.

She is the first Hispanic woman to serve on a Fortune 100 top five corporate board.

In 2010, Casiano established Kimberly Casiano & Associates, where she serves as president. The firm provides advisory services in marketing, recruiting, communications, advocacy and diversity to target the U.S. Hispanic market, the Caribbean and Latin America.

In 2011, Casiano was elected to the Mead Johnson Nutrition board of directors, a leading nutrition company for babies and children. In 2006, she was elected to the board of Mutual of America, a company that provides retirement products and insurance coverage to employees of nonprofit organizations and small- and medium-sized businesses.

From 1981 to 1988, Casiano managed her own company, Caribbean Marketing Overseas Corporation, fostering trade and investment in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company served as Caribbean Basin Initiative consultant to the U.S. Agency for International Development in developing and executing public and private sector projects throughout the region. In 1987, Casiano joined Casiano Communications, becoming president in 1994.

Casiano, for whom education is the key to success, is active on the board of several nonprofit organizations that support education. She chaired the annual fundraising event for the American Cancer Society in Puerto Rico for 10 years.

Born in New York to Puerto Rican parents, Casiano moved to Puerto Rico when she was 12, growing up in a bicultural, bilingual environment. She earned a bachelor’s degree in politics and Latin American studies from Princeton University in 1979, graduating magna cum laude, and obtained her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1981.

Casiano is married to Peruvian-born Juan F. Woodroffe. They have two children.
