Farida Amar

Farida Amar has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Farida currently works as a Research Fellow at Parallax Futures since 2024. Previously, they held the position of President at Forecast Foundation starting in 2023. Farida also worked as a Creative Director at Fly Compton Foundation from April 2023 to October 2023. Additionally, they served as a Creative Director at Transformations of the Human from June 2021 to August 2022 and as an Art Director at Noema Magazine from October 2020 to November 2021. Farida Amar also has experience in the public sector, serving as a City Councilwoman at the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council from April 2014 to March 2016. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Art Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising from July 2008 to June 2012 and at Nail Communications from July 2007 to June 2008. Farida also worked as a Curator at The Wolfsonian-FIU from September 2006 to March 2007 and as an Art Director at Modernista! from July 2005 to December 2005.

Farida Amar obtained a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communication from Emerson College in 2005. Farida then pursued a Professional Portfolio degree in Art Direction at Miami Ad School from 2005 to 2007. In 2006, they continued their education at Florida International University, where they earned a Master's degree in Mass Communication Theory. Farida also participated in study abroad programs at the University of Richmond in 2003, focusing on Photography & Italian, and at Universidad de Salamanca in 2002, studying International Communications & Spanish. In terms of additional certifications, Farida has obtained various ratings and licenses from the Federal Aviation Administration, including Fixed Wing Instrument Add-on Rating in 2023, Preventing Discrimination & Harassment certification from Traliant in 2022, and several pilot licenses and ratings including Commercial Helicopter Pilot License in 2018, Helicopter Instrument Rating in 2017, and Private Helicopter Pilot License in 2016.
