Jessie Barker

Senior Research Analyst at Forecasting Research Institute

Jessie Barker serves as the Alaska Climate Strategy Director at The Nature Conservancy and a Senior Research Analyst at the Forecasting Research Institute, both roles held since 2024. Previously, Jessie worked as a Senior Behavioral Scientist at Surgo Health from November 2022 to September 2024 and at Surgo Ventures from December 2021 to October 2022. Jessie’s experience also includes positions as a Public Health Scientist and Public Health Data Analyst at the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, an Advisor and Associate Research Advisor at The Behavioural Insights Team, and a Research Fellow at Aarhus University, where Jessie was a Marie Curie COFUND Fellow. Other roles included a Visiting Researcher at the Santa Fe Institute and a Research Fellow at the University of Arizona, as well as serving as an Adjunct Instructor at Pima Community College. Jessie holds a PhD in Behavioral Biology from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences (Zoology) from the University of Cambridge.
