Mr. Jim Gagnon is a software developer and past founder of a successful company, Abacus Concepts, in 1984. He nurtured the company from a raw, self-financed start-up to a mature 30-employee private corporation. With two MacUser Eddies, six MacWorld World Class awards, and a 60% market share worldwide, Abacus was the undisputed leader of Macintosh Statistical Analysis and a significant player in the Win32 world. As the Chief Programmer and CTO, Jim successfully sold the company to its largest competitor in 1998. After the sale of Abacus, Jim embarked on a period of volunteerism and adventure. After supporting a number of projects and extensive travel, Jim returned to Northern California to start a family and find new challenges.
