Master Naturalist at Forest Preserves of Cook County

Tammy Perlmutter is an experienced professional with a diverse background in community service, environmental stewardship, and administration. Currently serving as the Assistant Agency Technical Administrator at Cornerstone Community Outreach since April 2023, Tammy is dedicated to supporting the homeless community in Chicago. As a Master Naturalist with the Forest Preserves of Cook County since October 2022 and a Chicago Conservation Corps Sustainability Leader since September 2020 at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Tammy actively engages in environmental education and sustainable projects. Additionally, Tammy is the Founder and Curator of The Mudroom, showcasing entrepreneurial skills. Previous roles include Office Manager at New Life Community Church and Women's Coordinator at Jesus People USA, where Tammy provided leadership support and coordinated community activities. With a strong foundation in editing and writing demonstrated through roles at Cornerstone Press Chicago and Cornerstone Magazine, Tammy holds a Master Naturalist degree in Environmental Science and a fellowship in Theology/Theological Studies from C.S. Lewis Institute.
