JT Vogt is a seasoned professional in forest management and entomology with extensive experience at the USDA Forest Service since February 2011, currently serving as Center Director overseeing research units and the Southeastern Climate Hub. Previously, JT held roles as Project Leader and Deputy Program Manager, contributing to multidisciplinary research on forest health challenges. Before joining the USDA, JT was Technical Director at a pest management company and served as Lead Scientist at USDA-ARS, focusing on biological control research. Educationally, JT obtained a Ph.D. in Entomology from Auburn University, an M.S. in Entomology from The University of Tennessee Knoxville, a B.S. in Biology from Tusculum University, and completed military academy education at Camden Military Academy.
