Genevieve Bennett has a strong work experience in the field of environmental conservation and sustainability. Genevieve is currently the Director of Communications and Strategic Outreach at Forest Trends Association, where they lead the development and execution of strategic outreach and partnership initiatives. Genevieve also oversees various outreach activities related to carbon markets analysis, timber and forest-risk commodity trade analysis, and climate and natural resources policy analysis.
Prior to their current role, Genevieve worked as a Senior Associate at Ecosystem Marketplace, where they conducted market analysis of biodiversity credit markets and watershed investment structures. Genevieve played a key role in launching the first nature-based startup accelerator ECOSTAR and provided training in carbon, water, and biodiversity markets and finance.
Genevieve has also worked as a lecturer at Clark Fork Watershed Education Program and as a Project Lead at Willamette Partnership, where they assessed the demand for ecosystem service credits and engaged with potential credit buyers. Additionally, they chaired an audit of sustainability performance at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and worked as a trail crew member at Southwest Conservation Corps.
Early in their career, Genevieve was a Junior Fellow at The Breakthrough Institute and a Program Assistant at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
