Brett Townsend

Brett Townsend has a wealth of work experience in various roles and industries. Brett currently works at Forest View Hospital as a Lead Mental Health Technician, where they started in February 2023 after previously working as a Mental Health Technician from September 2022. Prior to this, Brett worked at Kent District Library as a Fund Development Administrative Assistant from December 2021 to September 2022. From March 2021 to December 2021, they were a Community Services Specialist at Grand Rapids Community Media Center, after working as a Community Engagement Specialist from July 2020 to February 2021. Before that, Brett held roles such as Administrative & Community Engagement Assistant at Grand Rapids Community Media Center, Substitute Teacher at EDUStaff, LLC from February 2016 to January 2020, Production Assistant at ArtPrize in August 2019, and Visitor Services Lead Associate at Grand Rapids Art Museum from October 2016 to June 2019. Brett also worked as a GoSite Guide at Grand Rapids Art Museum from June 2015 to October 2016 and as a Credentials Coordinator at ArtPrize from September 2014 to October 2015. Brett Townsend has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Western Michigan University, which they obtained from 2023 to 2026. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy & Communication Studies at Grand Valley State University from 2009 to 2014. Brett also attended Southwestern Michigan College in 2008-2009 and Niles Senior High School from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they hold certifications such as "Annual Campaigns: Building a Case for Support" and "Fundraising and Development Foundations" from Coursera, obtained in 2022. In 2015, they became a Certified Tourism Ambassador through Experience Grand Rapids.
