Íñigo Varela Knörr Caia

Íñigo Varela Knörr has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy and financial services sectors. Íñigo is currently working as the Head of Structured Finance at Forestalia, a prominent renewable energy developer in Spain. In this role, they are responsible for project finance and has successfully closed transactions worth over 625 million euros with major banks and financial institutions.

Prior to their current position, Íñigo held the position of Structured Finance Manager at Forestalia and was involved in various finance projects. Before joining Forestalia, they worked as a Structured Finance Analyst at the same company.

Íñigo also has experience in financial services consulting. Íñigo worked at KPMG as an Associate, where they engaged in advisory projects for financial institutions in areas such as counterparty credit risk, operational risk, and data quality. Íñigo also worked as an Executive at KPMG, specializing in financial services consulting.

Early in their career, Íñigo worked as an Intern in the Project Evaluation Department at GENNEIA S.A., where they gained experience in renewable energy projects, carbon credit markets, and project financing.

In addition to their work experience, Íñigo is also a member of Nova, a professional network of individuals in various industries.

Íñigo Varela Knörr, CAIA, obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree with a major in Finance from CUNEF from 2009 to 2014. During this time, in 2012 to 2013, they also attended the University of Newcastle as part of an exchange program for their BBA degree. Prior to their university education, they attended Colegio Retamar from 1997 to 2009 and The British School of Paris from 2002 to 2006.

In terms of additional certifications, Íñigo Varela Knörr has achieved the following:

- Íñigo passed the CFA Program Level I Exam from the CFA Institute in November 2022.

- Íñigo obtained the Alternative Investment Analyst Charter (CAIA Charter) from the CAIA Association in November 2021.

- Íñigo holds a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Cambridge, obtained in 2008.
