SVP at Forever 21

During his time with the company, Chris has been responsible for various strategic initiatives including real estate/store development, strategic partner development and overall strategy development and implementation. Chris has made a key contribution to a phenomenal growth story, placing Forever 21 on a trajectory to be one of the most successful retailers in America. While Chris has helped Forever 21 on its retail growth path, he has also been responsible for steering the company’s financial initiatives. He has managed Forever 21’s $200 million portfolio, investing in a variety of equity and bond instruments to maximize yield. At the same time, he has also managed the company’s investments in private companies in South Korea and the U.S. and recently has led the formation of an investing arm of the business, Forever 21 Capital. Chris, fluent in both English and Korean, has developed relationships with senior executives in South Korea and now sits on the board of directors and on advisory boards of numerous private and public Korean companies. Throughout his career, Chris has built an extensive network. He serves under the Ministry of Information and Communication in Korea as Vice-Chairman of International affairs for the Korea IT SME and Venture Business Association. Chris, as a sponsor for the Integrated Corporate Relations, introduced five companies at the NASDAQ’s 2006 Asia Xchange and continues to support these companies as well as many others. In recognition for Chris’ network and influence within the Korean community, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa invited Chris to join him as a member of the city’s Asia Trade Mission Business Delegation to China, South Korea and Japan. Chris accompanied the Mayor and other Los Angeles business leaders to South Korea and China where they met with government officials and prominent business leaders to promote cross-border economy and commerce. Chris lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife and three kids.
