Forgotten Harvest
Tim Reade has a strong background in public health and healthcare education. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees at The St. Andrew's Society of Detroit, Tim also volunteers as a van driver for Forgotten Harvest's Harvest Heroes program. With a career spanning various roles at organizations like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, Tim's expertise ranges from health coaching to COVID-19 contact tracing. With a master's degree in Health Behavior/Health Education from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, Tim's dedication to promoting health and wellness is evident in their volunteer work at the Detroit Zoo and beyond.
Forgotten Harvest
Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” and distributed 40 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to more than 200 emergency food providers in the Metro Detroit area.
