Catherine Groschner

Kate Groschner is a Senior Materials Engineer at Form Energy since October 2022, following a postdoctoral research position at the University of California, Berkeley, where significant contributions included studying strain relaxation in twisted multilayer graphene and structural changes in TMDs. As a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley, research focused on integrating materials characterization with data science, operating neural networks for automated electron microscopy, and managing a team of students. Previous experience includes internships at QuantumScape, developing tools for lithium ion battery materials, and conducting research at the University of Cambridge, MIT, University of Vermont, and Carnegie Mellon University, spanning topics from surface electronic properties of nanowires to thin film materials.
