Shawna Smith

Shawna Smith is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in reliability engineering and technical research. Currently serving as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at QuantumScape since October 2012, Shawna has previously held positions as a Reliability Engineer at L-3 Communications and a Researcher at Dalhousie University, where significant contributions included the production of Li-ion coin cells and the characterization of electrode materials. Shawna's early experience encompasses roles at OEM-lean 101, the Royal Canadian Mint, and Cangene Corporation, providing a comprehensive foundation in quality systems and engineering documentation. Shawna holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, attained in 2009.
