Ned Owens began their work experience as an English Language Teacher at Lado International College in 1995. Ned then worked as an Ocean Import Representative at Expeditors International from 1997 to 1999. In 2001, they joined McGladrey, LLP as a Tax Manager, a position they held until 2014. In 2014, they became the Chief Financial Officer at FORMA Construction Company, where they are currently employed.

Ned Owens completed their education with a Master's degree in Taxation (MST) from Golden Gate University, where they studied from 2005 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting from Seattle University, between 1999 and 2001. Ned also received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Japanese & Economics from Connecticut College, where they attended from 1991 to 1995. Ned'shigh school education was obtained at Capital High School, where they graduated with a diploma in 1991. In addition to their degrees, Ned Owens obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Washington State Board of Accountancy in February 2005.
