Austin Songer has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and compliance. Austin most recently served as a Senior Security Engineer at FormAssembly, where they implemented a robust security and compliance program. Austin conducted security audits, enhanced infrastructure, and ensured compliance with major industry standards.

Prior to that, Austin worked as a Freelance Cyber Security Engineer & Consultant on Upwork, where they conducted SOC 2 and ISO 27001 gap assessments, developed policies, and performed regular security audits for clients.

Austin also gained experience as a Security Engineer at Secure Compliance Solutions LLC, monitoring security events, conducting vulnerability scans, and maintaining security technologies.

Austin served as a Security Compliance Manager at Prevail Health, where they implemented security controls, managed risk assessments, and enforced policy compliance.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a GRC Security Analyst at Alight Solutions, a Technology and Data Services Coordinator at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy.

Austin holds certifications in Management Information Systems (MIS), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA). Austin is known for their attention to detail, proactive approach to improvement, and dedication to achieving organizational goals.

Austin Songer has a strong educational background in the field of computer and information systems security/information assurance. In 2015, they obtained a Masters of Information Systems from Robert Morris University - Illinois. Prior to that, in 2012-2013, Austin completed their Bachelor of Arts degree at Eastern Illinois University. Additionally, Austin attended Kentlake High School in Kent, Washington and completed their high school education in 2006.

Austin has also earned several certifications to further enhance their expertise. In 2018, they received the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council. Austin has also acquired the Foundations of Purple Teaming and Foundations of Operationalizing MITRE ATT&CK certifications from AttackIQ in 2021. Furthermore, Austin obtained the Community Edition All-Star certification from RangeForce in July 2021. Austin has also obtained the Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate certification from Microsoft in June 2021. Lastly, Austin is currently pursuing the EC-Council Certified Security Analyst: Penetration Testing (ECSA) certification, with the specific date of completion yet to be determined.
