Stella Liao

Stella Liao is a software engineer who currently works at Formation. Stella has previous experience working as a staff accountant at Cornick, Garber & Sandler, LLP from January 2018 to January 2020. In October 2020, they began working at Open Source as an Artemis engineer. Stella has utilized Deno to minimize package management overhead and dependency bloat while capitalizing on its native testing features, Typescript support, and direct module import and caching to insulate application from updates that lack backwards compatibility. Stella has also employed React to make reusable and modularized components to increase maintainability and benefit from the performance enhancements of the Virtual DOM, including its reconciliation algorithm minimizing update time during re-rendering. Furthermore, Stella has implemented React Hooks to manage state in functional component state, allowing for greater composability and readability. Lastly, they have incorporated GraphQL as basis for testing due to its returning of exact and strictly-typed payloads, lack of versioned APIs, superior error handling, and reduced waterfall network requests allowing for more consistent tests.

Stella Liao has a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from SUNY New Paltz, a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Public Accountancy from the same school, and they are certified by Triplebyte as a Triplebyte Certified Front-end Engineer. Stella also has certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
