Jan Philipp Mertens

Jan Philipp Mertens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jan Philipp is currently working at Formitas AG as a BIM Management and BIM Strategy Consulting professional, where they utilize their 20 years of experience to assist clients in developing integrated and efficient solutions for project management in the construction industry. Prior to this, they were a Master Thesis Intern at Hilti Group in 2021. In 2020, they worked as a Working Student at CONCEPTA Projektentwicklung GmbH. From 2018 to 2020, Jan worked as a Student Research Assistant at FIR an der RWTH Aachen, gaining valuable research experience. Jan Philipp also has experience as a Consulting Intern at JLL in 2016. In 2012, they had internships at Arup and PLP Architecture, and in 2011, they interned at HEBERGER Gruppe.

Jan Philipp Mertens has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering with a field of study in Civil Engineering from RWTH Aachen University. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering with a field of study in Civil Engineering from the same university. Jan Philipp also completed the International Baccalaureate program at St. Clare's, Oxford. In addition to their academic pursuits, Mertens participated in the Music Horizons program at the Eastman School of Music, focusing on classical music for three weeks. Mertens further enhanced their qualifications by obtaining a Business Transformation Manager certification from RWTH International Academy in November 2019.
