Szu-Yu (Silvia) Chen's work experience begins in 2006 as an Undergraduate Researcher at the YZU Green Technology Research Center at Yuan Ze University, where they optimized thermal mechanism design for LED backlight modules. Szu-Yu (Silvia) then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Biosignatures Discovery Automation at ASU Biodesign Institute from 2009 to 2011, where they designed and developed a biomedical device for droplet-based single-cell DNA duplication.
In 2011, Szu-Yu joined American Bright Optoelectronics Corp. as an Application/Sales Engineer until 2013. Szu-Yu (Silvia) then joined Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. in 2013 and has held various roles, including Project Engineer, Piping Design Engineer, and currently serves as a Mechanical Integrity Engineer/APM MI Admin.

From 2004 to 2008, Szu-Yu Chen studied at Yuan-Ze University, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Following that, from 2008 to 2010, they attended Arizona State University and successfully completed a Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Szu-Yu Chen has obtained several certifications in the field of petroleum industry. In August 2022, they obtained the API 570 certification from API - American Petroleum Institute. In October 2022, they also earned the API 580 certification. Furthermore, in February 2022, they received the API 571 certification, all from the API - American Petroleum Institute.
