Wayne Chen (Wei-Yu)

Wayne Chen's work experience includes a role as a Staff Engineer at Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A., which began in June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Quality Engineer at May Chen Aromatics Corp. from October 2017 to December 2018. In this role, Wayne designed and executed test plans and DOEs for new product introductions, coordinated supplier audits, and led a successful root cause investigation resulting in a recall and rework of $3M worth of products. Wayne also has experience as an R&D intern at Nan Ya Plastics in July and August 2017, where they improved the salt erosion of a marine aqueous epoxy coating through formulation synthesis and conducted DOE testing to identify optimal additives. Wayne(Wei-Yu) also designed experiments to test the coating's corrosion resistance, porosity, hardness, and adhesion.

Wayne (Wei-Yu) Chen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Material Engineering from Chang Gung University in the period from 2013 to 2017. Wayne(Wei-Yu) then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University from 2019 to 2021.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Wayne Chen also acquired various certifications. Wayne(Wei-Yu) completed a course in Bash Scripting and another in Linux Command Line from LinkedIn in August 2020. Wayne also holds Lean Green Belt Certification from IISE Manufacturing and Design Division, obtained in April 2019, as well as Six Sigma Green Belt certification, obtained in October 2019 from the same institution.
