Come Grow with Us! Forsite is hiring for Sr. Development Technologist with experience and demonstrated aptitude in woodlands management, leading project teams and forest development planning and implementation. The position would be based out of our Southern Interior location - Salmon Arm, BC.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Sr. Development Technologist is responsible for forest development activities including the implementation of forestry plans, road/cutblock engineering, ecological assessments and completing associated plans and reports as well as Interacting with foresters, technicians and other professionals at Forsite. While this position is heavily balanced to field work, both field and office duties are required.
RESPONSIBLITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Broad understanding of, and experience in, general forestry practices and operational forest planning.
A safety conscious attitude and approach to daily work habits.
Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in forestry or a related field
2 or more years of experience in developing and applying forest harvesting and development practices, standards, ground rules or guidelines
Experience working with various levels of government, First Nations, stakeholder groups, contractors, the public and forest licensees in negotiating and resolving issues
Registration with the FPBC (or eligible for registration) as a professional forester (RPF) and/or forest technologist (RFT) will be considered as an asset.
