Ian Hankins, FCPA, has over 20 years of work experience in the finance and banking industry. Ian currently holds the position of Head of Wealth Management at Forsyth Barr Limited, a fully staff and NZ-owned NZX firm that provides a wide range of investment and wealth management services.
Prior to their current role, Ian worked at Westpac New Zealand, where they held various leadership positions. Ian served as GM Consumer Banking and Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to 2022. Before that, they were the Chief Transformation Officer from 2016 to 2017 and the Head of Commercial from 2013 to 2016. Ian also worked at Westpac from 2009 to 2013 as the Head of Retail Distribution, where they led a team of 1200 people and helped personal customers achieve their financial goals.
Ian's experience at Westpac extends further back to 2002 when they worked at Westpac New Zealand Limited. Ian served as the Head of Simplification in 2009 and led initiatives to improve customer and employee experience. From 2006 to 2009, they served as the Head of Operations, overseeing a team of 500 people across multiple sites, responsible for delivering efficient and high-quality services. Ian also held various senior finance positions within Westpac, including Deputy CFO roles, from 2002 to 2006.
Furthermore, Ian Hankins served as the Head of Finance at Westpac from 2001 to 2006. Ian'sroles included business partnering and contributing to the financial management of the organization.

Ian Hankins, FCPA completed their secondary education at Auckland Grammar from 1990 to 1992. Following this, they attended Victoria University of Wellington from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained their BCA degree with a focus on Accounting, Commercial Law, and Finance.
