Ed Haras

Ed Haras possesses extensive experience in law enforcement, currently serving as a Homicide Investigator in the Cold Case Unit at Fort Myers Police Department since February 2019. Prior to this role, Ed Haras retired after a distinguished career as Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigations at Lake County Sheriff's Office from October 1987 to July 2015. Additionally, Ed Haras has worked as an Investigator with the Lake County Major Crimes Taskforce from January 1997 to December 2003. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Winona State University, various specialized training programs at Northwestern University and the University of Louisville, and completion of the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy. Ed Haras has transitioned to semi-retirement since July 2015, dedicating time to personal pursuits.
