Dan Downing

Dan Downing currently serves as a Captain and Chief of Investigations at the Morgan County Sheriff's Office since May 1997, where responsibilities include supervising the Investigation Division and serving as SWAT Commander, as well as being a Fire, Arson, and Explosive Investigator. Prior experience includes roles as Detective Sergeant and Merit Deputy Coroner at the Morgan County Coroners Office, which involved overseeing over 1000 death investigations. Downing's law enforcement career began as Deputy Marshal at the Morgantown Police Department and included a role as Jail/Communications Officer at the Morgan County Sheriff's Office. Education includes completion of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1998 and a high school diploma from Monrovia High School in 1990.
