Patrick Newman has a diverse work experience in various botanical and environmental organizations. Patrick is currently serving as the CEO and President of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas and Fort Worth Botanic Garden since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Director of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center from January 2016 to May 2021. Before joining the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Patrick held multiple roles at Red Butte Garden - University of Utah, including Director of Programs from November 2006 to January 2016, and School Programs Manager from February 2006 to November 2006. In addition to their extensive botanical experience, Patrick served as a Volunteer for the Peace Corps from September 2003 to December 2005.
Patrick Newman completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology from the University of Utah from 1998 to 2003. Later, from 2007 to 2010, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from the same university.
