Principal FPGA Engineer at Fortem Technologies

Lyman Horne has extensive work experience in the field of FPGA engineering and communications. Lyman started their career as an Engineer at L-3 Communications in 1996 before joining Phonex Broadband as a Senior Engineer in 2001. At Phonex Broadband, they worked until 2006 and then moved to GE Transportation as a Communications Engineer involved in various responsibilities such as satellite modem, 802. 11 b/g modem & bridge, GPS receiver, software validation, failure analysis, and replacing end of life GPS module. In 2007, they joined S5 Wireless as a Sr. FPGA/ASIC Engineer for a year and then moved to Phonex Broadband as an FPGA/Software Consulting Engineer until 2010. From 2010 to 2015, Lyman Horne was a Senior FPGA Engineer at Coda Octopus Colmek, where they designed, implemented, and debugged various components including OFDM transmitter and receiver paths, correlator for receiver symbol time recovery, clock phase jitter tracking and removal circuit, and digital tone map with side channels and digital combiner. In 2015, they joined ImSAR, LLC as a Senior FPGA Engineer before joining Fortem Technologies in 2016 as a Principal FPGA Engineer, a position they currently hold.

Lyman Horne obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering/Communications from Brigham Young University. Lyman attended this university from 1988 to 1999.
